Meet at the Dolphin Inn at 9.15am for a 9.30am start. Make your own way there by personal transport, sharing where possible to reduce our carbon footprint.
Directions: Travel to Southport via the Coast Road and head towards Preston, past the traffic lights at Tarleton (onto the A59), and through the next roundabout signposted Croston. You will come to a roundabout signposted Walmer Bridge and Longton. Follow this road for about 0.4 miles and then watch out for Hall Carr Lane on your left in Walmer Bridge. Turn left down this lane and travel approximately 1.5 miles to a junction. Turn sharp left here down Marsh Lane and in about 300 yards the Dolphin will be on your right. Park in the Function Room car park just before the pub.
Travel Time and Distance: Allow one hour for the journey of around 22 miles.
There will be a walk of about 6 miles with almost zero ascent mainly on field paths and some quiet country lanes in the Longton area.
