A classic Lakes walk requiring some scrambling up and down the rocky peaks, but it's only 5.5 miles long and will be taken slowly.
We start at the New Dungeon Ghyll and start climbing straightaway in a westerly direction up to the Langdale Pikes with Loft Crag being the first summit reached, allowing excellent panoramic views in all directions.
We continue onwards and upwards to Pike of Stickle (scrambling required to reach the summit) before turning east and heading to Harrison Stickle for the highest peak of the day (736 m) and then along the ridge to Pavey Ark before descending to Stickle Tarn.
We continue our descent down the slopes of the valley back to the coach park.

‘B’ Walk
Distance: 9 miles
Ascent: 800 ft
Leaders:
John McEvoy
David Wake

Starting at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel this is a lowland walk around the foot of Lingmoor Fell, the ridge which divides the two Langdales.
A short stretch on the road leads to our main ascent of the day (420ft) up to and then passing Blea Tarn described by Wordsworth as "a liquid pool that glittered in the sun".
We continue on to Little Langdale Tarn and Elterwater before returning to the New Dungeon Ghyll via the Cumbria Way.

‘C’ Walk
Distance: 6½ miles.
Ascent: 500ft
Leaders:
David Turton

Steve Wright

Starting from Skelwith Bridge we follow the Cumbria way through woods, past the spectacular Colwith Force waterfall to Stang End.
We then drop down to the end of Little Langdale and across Greenburn Beck by the Slater's Bridge before climbing gently to Howe Banks.
From here we descend to Elterwater where we rejoin the Cumbria Way, which takes us through Great Langdale to our destination.
