The walk begins at Braithwaite and ascends Grisedale Pike (791m), goes down to Coledale Hause and then up to Craghil (839m).
We descend to Sail, skirt Outerside and ascend Barrow (455m) from which there are magnificent views of Derwentwater, Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite.
It is then a short descent into Braithwaite.
This is a beautiful Lakeland ridge walk with wonderful views of the Northern fells. |

| This walk allows great panoramas (weather permitting) of the Lakes and southern Scotland.
We leave Braithwaite in a southeasterly direction heading for High Coledale and onwards to Barrow Door and High Moss.
We continue climbing until reaching Crag Hill - the highest point of the day at 839m.
We then head north and descend sharply at first before heading north east along the Coledale valley, passing Force Crag mine, back into Braithwaite. |

| This Lakeland ‘classic' starts in the village of Braithwaite and begins with a gentle climb southward to Little Braithwaite where stunning views begin to unfold.
We then follow a well defined path to the minor road and to Uzzicar Farm where we cross the Newlands valley to Skelgill and the northern base of Cat Bells.
The climb to the summit is steady and will be taken at the pace of the slowest member of the party.
The rewards however are well worth the effort as we traverse the first two peaks to the top where the views of northern Lakeland are incomparable – weather permitting of course!!
The route down takes us to Littletown before returning over pastures to Skelgill and then along the beautiful path beside the Newlands Beck back to Braithwaite. |

This circular walk starts in Braithwaite and includes sections of open ground, birch woods, lakeside and riverside.
From Braithwaite we climb to Braithwaite Lodge and continue south to Rowling End Farm where we cross Newlands Beck.
We then pass through fields to Skelgill to join the Cumbria Way, which we follow to Nichol End launch point where we can view Derwentwater over a cup of tea.
From here we head north to Portinscale to follow the Derwent River for a while before going across fields and back to Braithwaite.
