On Sunday 18 June our walks are in the Llangollen area of North Wales where we are providing three walks. The coach will leave school as usual at 8.00 am prompt. There are toilets in Llangollen before the walks start ( 20 pence per visit) . We plan to leave Llangollen at 5.00 pm to be back in Formby at about 7.00 pm. All walks finish in Llangollen where there are teashops, open until 4.30 pm, and pubs. Conditions underfoot, plenty of mud, mean walking boots will be essential.

Leaving the coach at Llidiart–y-Parc on the A5 (GR 117,433), we begin our ascent to the Berwyn Ridge via sheep pastures, forest tracks and grouse moor to arrive at the day's high point at Moel Fferna (2066 ft.). |

| Heading southwards through the outskirts of Llangollen we pick up the rough track Allt y Bedi that climbs steadily through woodland. As the climb eases we reach minor roads leading to grassy fields and on up to open moorland. |

This circular walk starting from Llangollen includes woodland, open fields, riverbanks, a canal towpath and crosses a scree slope, (via a well used path). From Llangollen we climb slowly to meet Offa's Dyke Path, which we follow for some distance before descending to the Clwydian Way. |
