All walks start and finish in the beautiful village of Grasmere in the Lake District.
'A' Walk – The Classic Easedale Round
Walking up the Easedale Valley to the tarn, we ascend close to the dramatic Eagle Crag and continue to Sergeant Man for lunch. Traversing the plateau north to High Raise, we cross Birks Gill to reach the delightful ridge from Calf Crag to The Lion and The Lamb.

'B+' Walk – Many Views of Grasmere
We cross the main road outside Grasmere and climb Great Rigg (765m) by the
direct route over Stone Arthur and above Rigg Craggs. Turning south, we
walk along the ridge to Heron Pike (612m) and descend over Nabs Scar to
Rydal. We return to Grasmere via Loughrigg Terrace and Grasmere lake. If
delayed by bad weather, there is a shorter route back from Rydal Hall to
Town End and then Grasmere.

'B' Walk – Helm Crag
Our aim is to reach Helm Crag which rises to 1,300 ft to the north of Grasmere. Leaving the village by Easedale Road, we follow quiet lanes to reach Greenburn valley (boggy in places). From Greenburn Bottom sculpted by glacial ice, we climb the fell side to reach the ridge (splendid views). The descent to Grasmere is steep and the rocky path can be slippery, if wet. We return to Grasmere through Lancrigg Woods and back along Easedale Road.

'C' Walk- Grasmere and Rydal Water
This walk is virtually the classic round of Grasmere and Rydal Water and is a beautiful low level walk. Starting from the car park at Grasmere, our route takes us past Dove Cottage, up the hill and on into the woods below Nab Scar, as far as Rydal. Here we cross the main road and take the footbridge over the Rothay and continue south towards Brant Hows before turning west and then gradually south-west through head high bracken (it was, when we did the recce!), along the edge of a wood (Rough Intake). We turn north-west and head for Jobson Close and the caves before following Loughrigg Terrace, descending to take the path around the shore of Grasmere and finally a tarmac tramp down the road to reach the car park.
