1992-Cheshire-Tarporley
-
- We welcome 1992 with a set of walks based upon ideas by
Chris Symes who led our team for many years until ! last
summer when he moved to Tarporley in Cheshire. His new
stamping ground is the Peckforton Hills stretching SW
from Beeston Castle and he was so impressed with the
quality of the walking there that he offered to put his
group captain's hat on for one last time for the walks on
Sunday, January 19th 1992.The scenery on all walks is
rich and beautiful with the twin castles lending a
mediaeval atmosphere. Chris hopes to join one of the
walks on the day. All the walks will finish at the candle
factory in Higher Burwardsley (523565) where a pub, cafe,
toilets and shops await. We leave school promptly at 8.00
p.m. and will be back at school by 7.00 p.m. There will
be a brief toilet stop at Tarporley on the outward journey. Please return slip with cheque (not cash) to
Barbara Craine, School Office, by Thursday, 9th January
1992.
