'A' Walk
Starting from Slaidburn we follow the river Hodder northwards and then our route bears north-east as we skirt Stocks Reservoir (originally the site of the village of Stooks-in-Bowland) through a mixture of coniferous woodland and pleasant open farmland. Moving onto moorland our objective is Bowland Knotts 1411', just off the map, but approximately 1 mile north of Pike Side 1239' G.R. 723593. Returning to Pike Side we make our way back to Slaidburn via open farmland and the attractive Croasdale Valley.

Distance: 12½ miles
Leaders: Peter Lucas and John McEvoy

'B' Walk
Follows the same route as the 'A' walk but does not ascend Pike Side and Bowland Knott. The walk bears west through Parks Clough, over Lock Bridge 714585 and we return to Slaidburn by the same route as the 'A' party.

Distance: 9½ miles
Leaders: Ian Gilmour and Ken Park.

'C' Walk
To maintain a good tradition, we recommend you bring coffee/elevenses with you for consumption prior to walking, for there is no opportunity on the walk to buy refreshments. The walk commences near Clough Farm 707560 and we walk northwards up the lane for about 1 mile to the west of Stocks Reservoir, before we bear northeast crossing the Hodder at Lock Bridge. From here we walk southwards through the very pleasant mixed countryside on the east side of the reservoir, but in the opposite direction to both 'A' and 'B' parties. We finish at Slaidburn,

Distance: 7 miles
Leaders: Robert and Joyce Blackwell
