The next outing, of the walking club takes place on Sunday, 8 May 1983, and will be centred on Betws-y-Coed. The coach will depart promptly at 8.30 a.m. from school and we hope to return by 7.00 p.m. in the evening. Part of the terrain covered in the 'A' and 'B' walks may prove to be muddy if preceded by heavy rain therefore boots are the order of the day. The cost of the walks is £3.00 for adults and £2.00 for children. Details of each walk are given below. Please indicate on the return slip which walk you intend to join and return together with your remittance, to Mrs Craine at the school by Thursday, 28 April 1983.

'A' Walk
The walk starts at Capel-Curig with a circuit up to and along the flank of Moel Siabod amongst beautiful scenery. The loop then takes us out onto the other side of the A5 and takes in two delightful lakes, woodland, and then returns to the riverside close to Swallow Falls. A detour to take in the Falls is possible if time allows and the cost would be 20p. We then follow the river back to Betws-y-Coed.

Distance: 12½ miles
Leaders: Chris Symes and Keith Ellard

'B' Walk
Follows the same track as 'A' party for the walk along the side of Moel Siabod and following a short steep descent there is a fairly level walk, cutting through woods and returning over the Miners Bridge alongside the river. Again, if time allows, a visit to Swallow Falls is an option open to members of the party, after which we follow the river back to Betws-y-Coed.

Distance: 9½ miles
Leaders: Dave Luty and John Yabsley

'C' Walk
Starting Betws-y-Coed there is a fairly steep climb of ½ mile out of the valley bottom, We then follow forest trails to Llyn Elsi Reservoir, From there we descend back to the river, crossing it at the Miners Bridge with the option of the detour to take in Swallow Falls prior to returning via the river path to our starting point.

Distance: 5 miles (without detour to Falls)
Leaders: Hazel Ellard, A Symes and Jan Yabsley
