5th December -- Ambleside, Lake District
We were very lucky with the weather: despite widespread showers in the NW and in other parts of the Lakes, the Ambleside area was fine all day!
B walk: starting with a good climb up to Wansfell Pike, rewarded by great views then down to Troutbeck with a pub stop at the historic Mortal Man pub. Returning to Ambleside through Skelghyll Wood. .

A walk of around 12 miles - starting in Ambleside, heading to Rydal Water then onto Grasmere and over to Chapel Stile, then heading back via Elterwater, Skelwith Bridge, then back over Loughrigg Fell dropping back down into Ambleside.
