6th October -- Todmorden, Calder Valley
After very discouraging weather forecasts the day turned out fine again, with a few showers in the morning and mainly sunny in the afternoon. Good walking all round.

The A walk left Todmorden going up to Stones Wood then on to Gorpley Clough and Gorpley Reservoir over Counting Hill on to Rossendale way to Middle Hill, then headed to Rough Hill and back in to Todmorden along the canal.

The C walk started from the center of Todmorden first along the canal and then steadily up hill towards the Shepherds Rest Inn and onto the moors towards Rake End with great views over the valley. From there we dropped gently down hill to Bottomley, where we rejoined the Rochdale canal and made our way back along the tow path to Todmorden.
It was a "wet gear on wet gear off" day

The B walk started in Todmorden and made its way north-westwards up the Calder Valley through Centre Vale Park and Robin Wood where we climbed through the trees for a fine view down over Lydgate. We then re-descended into the valley and crossed over to the woods and meadows on the opposite bank. After passing through Cornholme we climbed up through the picturesque Pudsey and Paul Cloughs and joined the moor road past the Hawks Stones and on to panoramic views from Bride Stones Moor. It's downhill from here past the Whirlaw Stones, Todmorden golf course and Delph.
