January 10        Holme Chapel            Cliviger Valley

In the worst winter weather for 40 years the walk was nearly cancelled.

However the forecast for Sunday was clear during the day with snow in the evening, The main roads were clear and the car park of the Ram Inn, though covered in snow and ice, was judged passable.

20 valiant members braved the conditions!!

The "A" walk headed off to the top of Thieveley Pike.

As Dave Chapman was the only one

without a map, he did most of the leading.

After following the ridge through sometimes thigh deep drifts we thankfully descended to the valley floor and took a coffee break with some curious cows.
