August 1                Slaidburn                     Lancs

"B" walk lead by Roger Lewis and "C" Walk lead by David Whitehurst  did basically the same walk around Stocks reservoir, Roger's group going clockwise and David's walk going anti clockwise, both claiming to have gone further and quicker. It has to be said that "C" walk were first back to the pub,but mutterings of "shortcuts " were heard amongst the B walkers. Weather was fine but low cloud..........

.....promised rain later!

"A" walk led by Mike James followed the roman road up the Croasdale valley to the highest point where we could see over towards Hornby......,
......proceeded west down into the lovely Whitendale valley........
....then despite the worsening weather, up and over Dunsop fell, avoiding the path closed by the police due to nesting Eagle Owls posing a threat to innocent walkers!!
Finally with fine views of the reservoir, down into Slaidburn.....
...encountering the the washed, changed and fragrant B's and C's on the last lap.....

...monopolising the delightful pub....
....but in improving weather ended up smelling of flowers!
